The real problem

Most of the decision happens before anyone calls you

SBR Innovative builds websites, local SEO and enquiry handling for independent and boutique law firms, from a studio in Chandigarh, India, working with firms in the US, the UK, India and other English-speaking markets. The aim is simple: when someone searches for a lawyer in your area, they find your firm, understand what you do and hear back from you quickly.

People looking for a lawyer are often worried and in a hurry. They open a few firms side by side and contact the one that looks credible and replies first. A practice area with no page of its own, fees nobody can find or an enquiry that waits until Monday can quietly send that client to another firm.

We find those leaks first, then help you bring in more of the right customers.

Where clients slip away

Six places law firms lose new clients online

These are the gaps we check first on a law firm website and Google listing.

01

Enquiries nobody answers

In Clio's 2024 secret shopper study of 500 US law firms, only 33% replied to an email from a potential client and 40% answered the phone. A person with a legal problem rarely waits; they move on to the next firm in the results.

02

Every practice area on one page

Family law, wills, property and employment squeezed into one list. Someone going through a divorce wants a page that explains their situation and how you handle it, and Google needs that page to show your firm for that search.

03

No word on how you charge

Fees are the question clients feel most awkward asking. Saying whether you offer fixed fees, hourly rates or a first consultation saves them a call, and in England and Wales the SRA requires published price information for services such as conveyancing and uncontested probate.

04

Results pages that promise too much

A wall of big settlements with no context can break the advertising rules where you practise. In the US, the comments to Rule 7.1 of the ABA Model Rules warn that accurate past results can still be misleading if they suggest every client will get the same.

05

Lawyers nobody can see

Clients are choosing a person, not a logo. Bios with no photo, admissions, enrolment details or languages spoken give them little to trust, and give search engines and AI tools nothing to connect the firm to real lawyers.

06

A Google profile set up the wrong way

Google treats lawyers as individual practitioners with their own rules for profile names. A firm profile and lawyer profiles that clash, or a name stuffed with keywords, can confuse clients and break Google's guidelines.

Checklist

A 12-point law firm website checklist

The list we work through on every law firm audit. Go through it with your own site open on your phone.

  • Firm name, city and main practice areas on the first screen and in the page title.
  • Call and enquiry buttons visible on the first screen of every page on a phone.
  • One page per practice area explaining who it is for, how the process works and what the first step is.
  • How you charge fixed fees, hourly rates or a first consultation, stated plainly.
  • Required price information for example the SRA price and service details for firms in England and Wales.
  • Lawyers by name with a photo, admissions or enrolment, experience and languages spoken.
  • A confidentiality note on the form telling people what not to send before you have agreed to act.
  • A reply within the working day an automatic acknowledgement at once and a personal reply soon after.
  • A test enquiry every month submit your own form and check it reaches the right person.
  • Results with context past outcomes shown with the disclaimers your bar or regulator expects.
  • Office details matching Google name, address, phone and hours the same on the site and your Business Profile.
  • Fast on mobile data pages that open in a few seconds on a phone.

What clients type into Google and AI tools

Examples of searches a law firm site should answer clearly, each with a page or a section of its own.

  • family lawyer near me
  • how much does a divorce lawyer cost in [your city]
  • employment lawyer free consultation
  • will and probate solicitor [your town]
  • property lawyer for buying a flat in [your city]
  • what to bring to a first meeting with a lawyer
  • best law firm in [your area] for [practice area]

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Do you work with small firms?

Yes. We focus on independent and boutique firms, including sole practitioners, rather than large national ones.

Will the AI assistant give legal advice?

No. It only collects details and answers practical questions such as practice areas, office hours and how to book a consultation, and it says plainly that it is not a lawyer.

How much does a project cost?

There are no fixed packages. After a free 15-minute call we understand what your firm needs and quote for exactly that.

Can you keep our existing website?

Often, yes. Sometimes the fastest win is improving what you already have rather than starting again.

How quickly should a law firm reply to a website enquiry?

The same working day at the latest, and sooner is better. When Clio had a researcher contact 500 US law firms as a potential client for its 2024 Legal Trends Report, only 33% replied to the email and 40% answered the phone, so a firm that replies within hours already stands out.

Can a law firm in India have a website?

Yes, within the Bar Council of India rules. Rule 36 still bars advertising and soliciting work, but advocates may publish set particulars on a website, such as name, contact details, enrolment details, qualifications and areas of practice. We build Indian firm sites around that list and leave out anything that reads like an advertisement, such as rankings or client testimonials.

Do UK firms have to publish their fees online?

For some services, yes. The SRA transparency rules require firms in England and Wales that offer services such as residential conveyancing, uncontested probate, motoring offences, immigration (excluding asylum) and employment tribunal claims for unfair or wrongful dismissal to publish price and service information on their website, including what the price covers, key stages, typical timescales and who does the work. We build those pages so they are clear and easy to keep up to date.

Can we show case results and client reviews on our website?

It depends on where you practise. In the US, Rule 7.1 of the ABA Model Rules, adopted in some form in each state, bars misleading communications, and its comments warn that accurate past results can still mislead if they suggest the same outcome for every client. We write results pages with the context and disclaimers your bar expects, and you approve every word. In India, client testimonials on a firm website go beyond what Rule 36 allows.

Should each lawyer have their own Google Business Profile?

Sometimes. Google treats lawyers as individual practitioners. Where several lawyers work from one office, the firm has its own profile and a practitioner profile carries only that lawyer's name. A sole lawyer at a branded firm should share one profile with the firm, named as firm and lawyer.

Can you guarantee first place on Google?

No, and be careful with anyone who does. We agree the scope in writing before work starts and show you plainly what changed afterwards.
